IOL: Interpol hunt four in Japan's biggest robbery

El robo mas grande en Japón.

Tokyo police are to seek an international arrest warrant for a British woman and three Serbs suspected of pulling off Japan’s biggest robbery.

The four are accused of stealing 12 pieces of jewellery, including a 125 carat diamond necklace worth £15 million, from a store in Tokyo’s exclusive Ginza district in March.

Police have already obtained domestic arrest warrants for the four on charges of robbery and assault, Kyodo News agency said.

They plan to ask Lyon-based Interpol to place them on an international wanted list.

The four suspects are a British woman in her 50s and three Serbs – two men in their 30s and a woman in her 20s.

The two women reportedly helped scout out the Le Supre-Diamant Couture De Maki store before the robbery and kept a lookout as the two men entered the store posing as customers.

After immobilising a clerk with pepper spray, they smashed through a glass showcase to steal Yen3.4bn (€25.5m) worth of jewellery before escaping on a motorcycle.

The robbery was Japan’s largest-ever in value.

The group fled Japan for France using fake passports.

Realmente es impresionante como algo tan pequeño puede ser tan valioso.... y facilmente robable.
